Se invita a los compositores de música instrumental, electroacústica o mixta, como así también a personas dedicadas al estudio de la música, y particularmente a especialistas en didáctica musical, a presentar obras musicales y/o trabajos de investigación en las IV Jornadas Argentinas de Música Contemporánea que se realizarán en la Ciudad de Córdoba, Argentina, los días 20 y 21 de octubre de 2008.

este sábado nos reuniremos a discutir acerca de lo difícil que fue la ÚLTIMA JORNADA y preparar una serie de improvisaciones sonoras a lo largo de la casa junto a los artistas brasileños DARISBO y ARMANI, YAGUI QUINTERO, JOSË DE DIEGO Y QUIEN LES SUSCRIBE. además la casa será intervenida corpóreamente con la posible colaboración de MICA y MARIELA VITA, además además de los artistas RESIDENTES. también estará la posibilidad de crear espontáneamente alguna especie de arte colectivo y, como siempre, el PICNIC abierto a la posibilidad de que traigan comestibles y bebibles para compartir.

OPEN INVITATION to participate on ISIM: International Society of Improvised Music

On  this note, (this is serious!)  I am inviting you to consider joining and contributing your energy in a slightly different mode, the I.S.I.M.  That’s International Society of Improvised Music. Founded in 2000 by Ed Sarath, in Ann Arbor, the organization is gaining ground for the advocacy of improvised music, facilitating events, and exploring the potential for the philosophy and practice of improvisation to make a difference in the music world,  in society, and to knit together a network of kindred spirits throughout the world.
It kind of reminds me of what we envisioned to do in 1980, in NYC with the Improvisor’s Network (I.N.), but I.S.I.M is developing on a grander scale, and with more sure footing.  With an impressive Advisory Board already in place, I.S.I.M has already launched far-reaching directives.  Society is more ready, and the
environment right for improvisation to emerge as a recognized multi-dimensional art form.  It is the right time for a world musical evolution that will bring  together diverse disciplines that cross theoretical, transpersonal, aesthetic, and cultural lines.

Share Festival 2009

Share Festival announces the guest curator for the 2009’s edition: Andy Cameron.
Share Festival 2009, at his fifth edition, will be in Turin from 24th till 29th of march 2009.
Also this year the hearth of the festival will be the Share Prize 2009.
Inscription since 15th of june till the 30th of september 2008 at http://www.toshare.it/eng/share-prize.

The main requisite for participating in the competition is to create a work in which digital technology is applied as a language of creative expression. There is no limitation to shape and format, combinations with analogical technologies and/or any other material (eg computer animation / visual effects, digital music, interactive art, net art, software art, live cinema, audiovisual performance, etc.).

A short list of no more than six finalists will be announced within November 2008.
The award candidates are invited to participate in the 5th edition of Share Festival in Torino that will be from 24th till 29th march 2009.
The six competitors, chosen from all the participants, will exhibit the work they have entered in the competition, during the Festival.

A Jury will award a prize of Euro 2,500 to the work (published or not) that best represents experimentation of arts and new technologies.

Nuestro gran compositor César Bolaños tiene ya un myspace, allí ha publicado una breve biografía y está subiendo algunos artículos sobre sus inquietudes musicales. Hace poco publicó el libro “Origen de la música en los Andes: Instrumentos musicales, objetos sonoros y músicos de la región Andina Precolonial” con el fondo editorial del Congreso del Perú. Bolaños sigue escribiendo, por si fuera poco ahora tiene un blog! y allí está publicando, textos, cuentos y reflexiones. Los invito a visitar el fascinante mundo de César Bolaños, su música, su imaginación, todo lo que en él nos queda por descubrir.
