XIIth International Electroacoustic Music Festival
“Spring in Havana 2008”

The National Laboratory of Electroacoustic Music and the National Center for Concert Music convoke composers, sound artists and performers to take part in the twelfth issue of the International Electroacoustic Music Festival “Spring in Havana 2008” to be held from Monday, March 10 to Sunday, March 16, 2008.

The activities of Spring in Havana take place in concert halls at the Historic Site of Havana (UNESCO’s World Heritage), at the National Museum of Fine Arts, Casa de las Americas and the High Institute of Arts, among other locations.

There will be accepted propositions of electroacoustic works for tape only, mixed techniques (except for works requiring percussion instruments to be provided by the Organizing Committee), live electronics and audiovisuals. The duration of the pieces should not exceed 10 minutes.

Propositions different from these by sound artists and DJ’s will be studied by the Organizing Committee.

Those willing to participate should submit

- A description of the proposition (program notes and technical requirements)
- Curriculum vitae (no more than 200 words)
- Digital photograph of the composer or performer
- Contact information (personal address, e-mail and fax)

- Works in CD or DVD format (NTSC standard in the case of video)
- Scores and other required complementary materials.

Deadline for reception is November 30, 2007. Except for the materials received after January 15, 2008 the postal stamp date will be accepted as valid.

The selected pieces will be presented at the public concerts of the Festival. During the Festival will also be presented lectures on electroacoustic music and technology applied to music.

Authors will be directly informed of the selection of their works. Registration fee for each selected piece: 50.00 Cuban convertible pesos.
